Teen Patti Hands, Best to Worst
The hand ranking is everything in Teen Patti. Notice how rare the top hands are â a Trail or Pure Sequence turns up in fewer than 1 in 200 deals.
Trail / Trio
Three cards of the same rank
Pure Sequence
Three consecutive cards, same suit
Sequence (Run)
Three consecutive cards, mixed suits
Color (Flush)
Three cards of the same suit
Pair
Two cards of the same rank
High Card
None of the above â highest card wins
Probabilities for a random three-card hand from a standard 52-card deck. In most rules A-K-Q is the highest sequence and A-2-3 is the second highest.
Teen Patti Terms You'll Hear
In player-vs-player Teen Patti, betting moves around the table until one player is left or a Show decides the winner.
Boot
The minimum amount every player puts in the pot before cards are dealt.
Blind
Playing without looking at your cards. Blind players bet half of what Seen players must.
Seen (Chaal)
Looking at your cards, then betting â usually double the current blind stake.
Pack
Folding your hand and leaving the round. Anything you've bet stays in the pot.
Side Show
A Seen player asks the previous Seen player to compare hands privately; the weaker hand packs.
Show
When two players remain, one can pay for a Show and both hands are revealed.
Popular Teen Patti Variants
Online tables offer many twists on the classic game. Always check which version you're joining.
Classic
Standard rankings and betting. The best place to start.
Muflis (Lowball)
Rankings are reversed â the lowest hand wins the pot.
AK47
All Aces, Kings, 4s and 7s act as jokers, making strong hands more common.
Joker / Wild Card
A randomly chosen rank becomes wild for the round.
Player A vs Player B
Live dealer format: bet on which of two dealt hands will win â no table decisions.
20-20 / Fast Teen Patti
Quick rounds with fixed betting windows. Faster pace means faster spending.
Teen Patti Pitfalls to Avoid
Staying in with any hand
About 74% of hands are only High Card. Packing weak hands early protects your stake.
Playing Blind forever
Blind play is cheaper per bet but means you're betting without information. Know when to look.
Ignoring the variant
Muflis and joker games change which hands are strong. Check the table rules before you join.
Chasing a big pot
Set a table limit. Raising to win back losses is the quickest way to lose more.
Teen Patti FAQs
A Trail (three of a kind) is the highest hand, with three Aces being the best Trail. It's followed by Pure Sequence, Sequence, Color, Pair and High Card.
Mathematically a Pure Sequence is very slightly rarer, but by tradition Teen Patti ranks Trail above Pure Sequence. Both appear in fewer than 1 in 400 random hands.
A Blind player bets without looking at their cards and pays half the stake a Seen player must pay. Once you look at your cards you become Seen.
A Side Show lets a Seen player ask the previous Seen player to compare cards privately. If accepted, the player with the weaker hand must pack.
The cards are random, but in player-vs-player games decisions like when to pack, bet or ask for a Show affect results. Dealer-based formats like Player A vs Player B are pure chance.
