The Classics

Six Table Games, Explained

Pick a game to see how it plays and the key things to know before you sit down at a live or digital table.

🎡

Roulette

A ball spins around a numbered wheel. Bet on a single number, groups of numbers, red or black, odd or even.

  • European wheel: 37 pockets (0–36)
  • American wheel: 38 pockets with an extra 00
  • Outside bets pay less but win more often
  • Choose European over American for a lower edge
🂡

Blackjack

Beat the dealer by getting closer to 21 without going over. Cards 2–10 count face value, picture cards 10 and Aces 1 or 11.

  • Hit, Stand, Double or Split your hand
  • Dealer must hit to a fixed total (usually 17)
  • Blackjack (A + 10-value) often pays 3:2
  • Basic strategy lowers the house edge the most
🎴

Baccarat

Bet on whether the Player or Banker hand finishes closer to 9, or on a Tie. Card values add up and only the last digit counts.

  • No decisions after betting — drawing rules are fixed
  • Banker bets usually pay 0.95:1 (5% commission)
  • Player bets pay 1:1
  • The Tie bet has a much bigger house edge
🐉

Dragon Tiger

One card each to Dragon and Tiger — the higher card wins. Among the fastest live table games.

  • Ace is low, King is high
  • Main bets pay 1:1
  • On a Tie, main bets often lose half the stake
  • Rounds take only seconds
🎲

Sic Bo

Three dice are rolled. Bet on totals, specific numbers, doubles, triples or Big/Small.

  • Small = total 4–10, Big = total 11–17
  • Any triple makes Big/Small lose
  • Specific triples pay very high odds
  • Simple bets carry the lowest edge

Casino Poker

Versions like Casino Hold'em and Three Card Poker are played against the dealer, not other players.

  • You need a qualifying hand to beat the dealer
  • Bonus side bets pay for strong hands
  • Rules and paytables vary by version
  • Decisions affect your results
House Edge

Which Bets Cost the Least?

House edge is the average share of each bet the casino keeps over the long run. Lower is better for you. The gap between the best and worst bets is huge.

Typical figures for standard rules. Exact edges depend on table rules and payouts — blackjack's edge rises if you don't follow basic strategy or if Blackjack pays 6:5.

Roulette Bets

Every Roulette Bet, One House Edge

On a European wheel, each bet type has a different payout and chance — but all of them return the same 97.30% on average. Choosing a bet changes your risk, not your long-run cost.

Pick a bet type to see what it covers, what it pays and how often it wins.

FAQ

Table Games FAQs

Blackjack played with correct basic strategy usually has the lowest house edge, often around 0.5%. The Banker bet in baccarat is also low at about 1.06%.

European roulette has 37 pockets with a single zero; American roulette adds a double zero for 38 pockets. That extra pocket nearly doubles the house edge, from 2.70% to 5.26%.

The Banker hand wins slightly more often because of the fixed drawing rules, so most tables take a 5% commission on Banker wins to keep the edge in the casino's favour.

On many tables, if Dragon and Tiger show cards of the same rank, main bets on Dragon or Tiger lose half the stake. A separate Tie bet pays higher odds.

Live tables use real cards, wheels and dice streamed from a studio, and reputable providers are independently tested. Outcomes are random either way.
